“If you don’t own your story, you have to hustle for worthiness” – Brene Brown
UNCOVERED STORY #1
Paul Senescall appeared to have it all on the outside: Incredible athlete, admired by his peers, full ride scholarship to play Division 1 football at the University of Idaho, a beautiful wife, a healthy little boy and a wonderful home in a safe neighborhood appeared to have it all on the outside: Incredible athlete, admired by his peers, full ride scholarship to play Division 1 football at the University of Idaho, a beautiful wife, a healthy little boy and a wonderful home in a safe neighborhood. But what no one knew was how the guilt from a family tragedy took him down a dark road with a secret addiction. He was trapped in a cloud of darkness that almost cost him his own life. Paul’s story, along with his wife Becky Senescall, is a story of hope and redemption and it’s proof that all of us can not only be courageous enough to ask for help when we need it, it’s also proof that healing, even from our darkest struggle is possible.

As I sit here posting this, I have been moved to tears over and over this morning. My tears are of both joy and heartache. The joyful tears come from knowing so deeply the freedom that comes with owning your story, no matter how painful or shameful… and getting to see Paul be another person to discover this truth in his own life makes me so happy. The tears of heartache are for all of the people who are still silent in their suffering. They are for the people who send me messages saying they are terrified to let their story be known and they are for all the people who have gone to the grave, taking their secret with them, never being able to fully know the abundance and love this life could have offered if they had brought their shame into the light and owned ALL of their story. I so appreciate all of you who have supported me in making this vision of the Uncovered story platform come to life. This is just the beginning.
